The Easter Bunny's coming!

Hey Y'all...
Spring has Sprung! and
I'm sooo glad !so I started
taking out some stuff getting
ready for spring...
So I started with the dining room..

I just LOVE these cupcake
plates found them at Rite Aid
of all places...

I like these plates also got
them as a birthday gift awhile
back along with the cake stand..

here is a back view of the
tablescape...

couldn't believe it when I found
this little teapot in Goodwill it
needs some TLC poor thing has
a crack in the back and no lid but
I've given it a good home :)...

lately I've started to collect cookie
jars that I can use as acessories I
guess because of the size of them
and they're 3 dimensional..the rabbit
came from Cracker Barrel a friend
spotted him for me...the large egg is
from my favorite store (the angels are
singing) "Hobby Lobby" I love that
store!

Later on I'll post some pics of what
I put in the hutch pretty soon I'm gonna
have to knock out a wall if I keep on
"finding" stuff...oh well...knock out a
wall it will be :). I hope everyone has

10 Ways to Love Your Home

1. Pick one room or closet that needs organizing and just do it. The next time you open the door, it will make you just that much happier to know everything’s in its place.
2. Get some wall art, mirrors or sconces and decorate your living room or bedroom. 3. Rearrange your room(s). Move furniture around to give your old living room a new feel. Or if you’re really feeling adventurous, swap rooms entirely (ex: switch the guest bedroom with the study).
4. Clean those pots and pans with the stubborn burns and caked-on food that you’ve been putting off. Plug in some music, get a few tips from the Community, and go after it.
5. Add an area rug or runner. These come in so many beautiful colors, and do wonders for brightening up a room, not to mention keeping your tootsies warm. Don’t be afraid of putting rugs on top of carpet – there’s no rule against it, and it can sometimes turn out really well.
6. Now, especially, you can do the whole family a favor and install insulated curtains. Their heavier fabric and thermal coating help keep out the cold and (especially at night) blocks light from streaming in. Not only will you be warmer, it will help cut down your electricity bill.
7. Replace your pillows. Studies show that 10% of the weight of a 2-year old pillow is dead skin cells, oils, and dead dust mites. These things can’t come out of a pillow through washing, so experts recommend replacing them every 6 months to 2 years (depending on quality).
8. Flip your mattress. Experts recommend flipping your mattress every six months, so if you haven’t already, you should do so. This prevents the mattress from becoming misshapen and giving you back problems.
9. Change your bedding. Switching out your duvet cover, throw pillows and sheets for a different fabric or pattern breathes new life into the bedroom. Adding some accent pillows or a quilt can also give the bed a more homey feel. With complete bed sets available from just $29.99, there's no excuse not to.
10. Thoroughly clean your towels. With the new ultra concentrated detergents, it is easy to put in too much when doing the laundry, without even knowing it. This leaves towels less absorbent over time (fabric softener does the same thing!). If you notice your towels don't quite dry you off like they used to, or if they’ve acquired a musty mildew odor and/or are stiff, wash them in their own load using hot water. Then place in the dryer on high heat. If they’re still not better, it’s time to get new towels. We suggest the Country Living towels for how soft, absorbent and quick-dry they are.

Decorated dining hutch for Valentines Day
with just a few cards,glasses,empty candy
boxes that I've kept over the years...those
Whitman Sampler candy boxes make great
decorations....

I realized that I didn't have a Valentine flag
out of all the flags that I have...looked online
but the ones I liked seemed really expensive
so I decided to check a local store and glad I
did ...purchased this one for half the price! now
I like that...half price!!

this heart is actually a wreath I use to put on the
front door...decided to switch it up a bit...

We had a little snow threat but I'm glad it went around us
y'all I'm sooo ready for spring!Hope everyone has a GREAT
weekend and a Happy Valentines Day! I told my hubby
NO CHOCOLATE! jewelry instead *wink*

Our Front Porch...
I am still SO pleased that I decided to
paint my front door RED!

Last year I wanted some prelight presents and
found these at a local store I was so impressed
with them and I'm glad I didn't have to drive far
to purchase them they are absolutely beautiful
in person!

I ALWAYS have to change out my flags...it's a MUST!
creates something "new" for my porch not matter
what holiday

this little quilt came from Walmart and it has it's
own carrying bag! NEAT NEAT!!

I still feel like this hutch is missing something..maybe
it's the background paneling that I need to paint!!

I am really pleased with the way this tablescape turned out! LOVE
my Slatkin figurals!!! from Bath and Body Works :)

A Green Thumb in the works.........

Good Afternoon,
I really wished i had a "green"
thumb like some folks..but
oh well I'm gonna work with
what i got....

this plant started out as a "little bitty" thing now it's
outta control so for now it will remain on the screen
porch till it's too cold...

trying my hand yet AGAIN with mums I really
like them but it's hard for me to get them to live
I probably need to just plant them in the ground
next time....but isn't that purple just beautiful??

my all time favorite FERNS...I can get these bad boys
to hang around for a long time!

Table Top Tuesday....

Good Morning,
I'm participating with Marty @ a Stroll Thru Life for Table Top Tuesday!
This tablescape is something that just came to me
I basically used leftover materials..

Last year I used the birds on a "fall" tree if you look
closely you can see on the bottom of the bird a silver
clip and i just clipped them to the trees branches I
found them at Garden Ridge in the Christmas section..

that soup tureen was one of the best
pieces I've purchased for my fall collection
I just love the color and it's a great
substantial size...

I'm trying to do better with my blogging

Quick trip to Savanna Ga!

Hey Y'all :)
My hubby and I took a quick trip
to Savannah Georgia this weekend.
We had a very nice time, we're hardly
ever without the kids but this time we
were! We enjoyed a great church service
and took in some sites. Also we ate at Lady & Sons
will post those pics later....great food!

I just love plants! wished they felt the same way about me :)
i try to have a green thumb sometimes without much
success! Here is a pic of an urn in front of a store
beautiful tropical plant inside....

I personally don't like to take pics so I tried to get
alot of my hubby:) here is is walking down the street
we were trying to find the restaurant.....

OH! I'm about to get left..........WAIT FOR ME!!!

the next pics are of some old buildings downtown.I wished we
had more time to just look and look butmaybe next summer
we can go and just take our time.i love to look at old buildings!

I thought this plant was so beautiful...don't know what
it is ..looks tropical also :)

we stopped on this little bridge to take pics of the river...
I personally don't do heights! so i took a few shots and
got off :(

carriage rides....

like i said i have a few more pics to come..just enjoyed
the time away and was glad the weather was nice..even
early in the morning it wasn't cold...that's what i love!

Fall dining....

Hey Y'all...
I put up a few fall decorations
in the dining room to make things
a little festive for the season..take
a look!...the first few pics are "before" shots :)

just loving the orange candles....but this way seemed
"unfinished" to me so I've made even more changes...

this hutch has been the BEST piece that I own..
poor thing has been through TOO many changes!:
I am actually thinking about doing something to
the back paneling...paint,fabic or some temporary
interchangeable panels it needs something....

i'm really digging this tablescape now...the colors are
more vibrant than before with the plain table cloth
and I just love the birds purchased them last year
at Garden Ridge in the Christmas section...when I
things i try to think of all the possibilities....guess
that's why my shopping trips are 2-3 hours long! LOL

I do pray that everyone has a good week! The
holidays will be here soon...and I'm ready for all of
the excitement,family gatherings & hustle and bustle of
it all!

Front porch decor for Fall !!

Hello just wanted to post several pics of
what I've done to my little front porch..I
wished it were alot bigger but I'm gonna
work with what I have and be thankful !
I am SO glad after 6 yrs I finally painted
the front door red..I LOVE it!

I picked this little guy up one afternoon at our local
Rite Aid and to top it off he was 50% so I definitely
could not pass that up!

my poor toparies have been through so many holidays!
got them when we first moved at Freds. Last weekend
I took a trip to Lowe's and looked at some of the ones
they have out now for Christmas and I do hope to be
getting them with the lights already attached but I will
definitely find a home for these on the back screened
porch!

By the way don't know if you can see or not but I've
already wrapped them with orange lights!And the leaves
are just a garland that I purchased from Hobby Lobby
(i think)

Here's a pic of the purple mums that i purchased from
Home Depot...last year I tried my hand with the orange
mums and for some reason (sure my fault) they didn't last
very long. I was also unaware that you could replant them
so I'm gonna try and find a spot for them....

I really and truly think these colors are just so beautiful. I also have
some barn stars that are rustic looking that I need to hang up some
where ...probably along the side walls of the porch..I really do wish
the porch was bigger...bigger porch means more stuff but that ok
I love decorating..i find it relaxing ,hectic & peaceful all at the same
time....go figure!

I do hope that everyone is out doing their own thing with decorating
and trying to change things up a bit!making our neighborhoods a
showcase for people that pass by...believe it or not there are some
folks out that that like to ride around and look at house...THAT
WOULD BE ME!!! :)

Couldn't wait to get out my Fall decorations!

I just couldn't wait to start pulling stuff
out of the attic!
Here's what is technically called the "living room"
although we never sit in there it the first room you
from the front door and I like it because it ALWAYS
stays clean!

Found this pumpkin back during the summer
at Goodwill...started not to get it but I'm glad
I did...it has a chip but u can't tell :)

I still haven't figured out how to load pic on my
digital frame that I got last year for Christmas
last year! but it's "purdy" ain't it? :)
Coffee table spread....

I put a few things on the piano mainly because
there is a outlet right behind it and I can plug
stuff up!

More Goodwill Finds!!

A couple of weeks ago I visited my local Goodwill.
You can't beat the bargains in there and you'll never
know what you'll find! I just love it!!

found these plates! YIPPEEE!!!!

I have already used them in my July 4th tablescape. What
i really like to do is make my decorations multipurpose that
way I actually feel like I'm getting my monies worth out of
them by using them for more than just one holiday or
occasion....
so here they are on my tablescape...and you wouldn't
have know if I hadn't told ya so :)

Ok next I have been wanting some to put over my kitchen cabinets
since there is a space between them and the ceiling so I found these
cookie jars in there one day...if you look at the close they have some
scratches and missing paint but i don't care they are for display anyway
and no one will be up that close to see them...i think they're cute!

on another occasion I found some more dishes....now
where in the world am I gonna display all these dishes
when the holidays come???no worries I'll find a place
trust me!

I have one more item that i want to show you..another one
of my favorite things is the prelight villages..but sometimes
depending on where you buy them they can be really
expensive and not to mention the fact you only see them
certain times of the year but me I love to have them plugged
in all year around so when I saw this one which has some
battle scars but it doesn't matter to me because it doesn't
look like its just for one season I can use it all year around
that's what I really like about it!

Oh well that's all I have for now..I want to work on some
ideas that I have in mind for a little business venture we'll
see what will come of it....i gotta start some where right???

Yay! finally finished the front flower bed! it was definitely a labor of love....

first I cleaned out all the old debris the bought 2 huge rolls of weed block 20 staples the first time then
2 boxes that contained 75 staples . I'm really fond of Naturescapes black mulch which we used a couple
of bags as fill in but it took 2 truck loads of mulch to fill and I'm really pleased....working on painting my
front door red! Wish me luck!!

Well I may not post anymore until the NewYear,

I'll be busy with presents and family and my son has

a birthday a week after Christmas,my husband 2 weeks

after him and my daughter 3 weeks after that...WHEW!!!

then it will be time to decorate for Valentines that won't

be too bad I'll just leave the Candyland tree up for that :)

Decorations for the kitchen.............

I seem to be showing my Christmas
decorations in stages :) so with that
said here the kitchen!

the "wrapped"gifts on top are just empty boxes
I had...sometimes I use empty detergant and
pizza boxes...it works!

I am really surprised that this sign hasn't gotten
knocked down yet...this is a opening over looking
the family room....

and here are some more "presents" over the kitchen
cabinets...with peppermint paper plates!

Dining room is decorated...

As my family pulled out of the driveway
Thanksgiving night I started takingdown
my fall decorations so here's what I've
done in the dining room......

think that's what I like about it....

this wooden house i bought pre-made a while back

painted it red of course and it's been sitting...so now

it actually has a purpose...i just added the gingerbread

girls inside just to have some where to put them :)

out...i would like to get some actual curtains up in

there instead of just the sheers but one thing at a time!

My new snowman!

I'd been debating on getting a
prelit snowman for the front porch
well....last night while I was out I
went ahead and got him...

the box was what I'd say rather large but I got him in
the truck anyway! my idea is to put him on
the front porch on the top step by the door
if he'll fit....he's 5ft ...that's a nice size so
he'll be pretty tall...well..I'm 5'4" so that's
tall to me :)

Love tha Gingerbread kits!...

Since I'm not a good "bake from
scratch" kinda gal...I look forward
to these kits every year so I can do
them with the kids but since they've
gotten older they like to do them
by themselves....

this was my first time seeing the train...I knew
they had the house and now Walmart has the
little villages. I got this train over the weekend
at Bed Bath and Beyond...if I'm not mistaken
I think I saw the tree there....or that might
have been Walmart also...between getting
ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas
shopping and wrapping everything's
running together these days...

Well I've started on my shopping for the kids

and I'm trying to do better than last year by

wrapping as I go it makes me feel like I'm

ahead of the game! I hope everyone has a

Making a "word" wall....

Hey y'all....

Ok last weekend I was at my local Big Lots
( love that store)and noticed that they had the
"words/sayings" that youcan put on your wall....
now why didn't I think of this? soI purchased a can....

so I decided I'd go ahead and put this on the wall...
there were2 places I was thinking about but decided
to put them here...

on this blank wall over the piano...this area needed

"something"..i'd been thinking about some wrought

iron pieces from Hobby Lobby but oh well...

this was cheaper...so here goes...........

here's what it looked like just outta the can...

and here's what it looks like finished....

as you'll probably notice like Idid...

I put too much spacing! so I looked

at the instructions again and tried to use

a hair dryer to remove it and it won't

budge ! :( my friend told me that I might be

able to remove it with some alcohol)....

but wait till hubby sees wonder what

he's gonna say...gulp :)

I realize now that I should have put JOYOUS under

HOLIDAYS maybe...and I was thinking that I

always get another symbol of some kind and put in

that space....hmmm...

this maybe up all year...forever if I can't get it down..

has anyone out there ever used this product and have

you had trouble getting it down??? Well I hope you

all have a happy and safe weekend...it's gonna be

pretty my way.

Gathering some things....

Good Morning All!

Last night I was going through some Christmas things that I'd been gathering

to do a "new" theme in the kitchen...thinking of calling it Candy Land...hmm...

so I took out this Santa that I ordered for Avon a few months ago he'll lonely

because I waited to late to order Mrs.Clause and she had sold out...ahhhhhh!

got this snowman toilet seat cover at Bed Bath & Beyond this past weekend..

I have seen these in catalogs before and always wanted one....

I'm thinking of doing a tree in the kitchen a small to medium sized one and

use these ornaments to go along with my theme..got them at the Dollar

Tree 4 ornaments for a $1 you can't be it right? :)

I know these are kitchen snowman towels...but I'm actually thinking

about using them in the bathroom with the snowman seat cover, I don't

think my kids will notice!

The candy stripped paper plate came from Walmart and I was thinking

about incorporating them into the decor/theme some how & besides

they were cheap! I'm looking into getting some real candy stripped

plates and using those also...I don't know if y'all have noticed but those

plates and the whole "Candy Land" seem to be "in" now...

love...love these little trees...one morning I stopped by a yard sale to look around
and happened to notice this box on the ground under a table..it was filled with
these trees! i couldn't believe it! so I got as many as i could :)

ok...here's my dilemma....

i'm debating about maybe doing some sort of Christmas scene in this red cabinet...
there is an outlet behind it and I could plug all sorts of things up!:) maybe cover
the inside with some wrapping paper...use some "fake"snow..put in a village???

now the idea with these peppermint lights is to maybe use them outside on my
toparies...not sure tho'...OH! I could do a tree inside the red cabinet and use
them on that tree...hmmm I'm gonna have to think about this some more..
well in the meantime...Have a good weekend !!!

Fall decorations for the kitchen....

This is a red cabinet my sister-in-law gave us...well me! you know men
don't care about stuff like this! :) and I just love it... she had it sitting in her
garage ....can you believe it...I was so happy to get it....

and.... its one of the many things that I decorate when the seasons change...

got the pumpkin vine at Hobby Lobby..wanted one last year and waited too
late.... as I often do...

I have another vine in the family room which i'll post later...

aren't these chickens cute! got them last year on clearance from my
other FAVORITE store...Pier 1 !!!

see this cabinet was screaming for some decorations!

on to the kitchen...would love to do something with the cabinets...paint
them a color but my husband might not be to happy..

wouldn't they look good painted RED....WHITE...or if i had the nerve BLACK? :)

and YES...crossing my fingers for stainless steel appliances one day!

see the pumpkin tucked in? got them (there another one across the room)
at Hobby Lobby and if you could see the back of it it's empty...it's cut in half
if you can imagine...hollow on the other side so it can be hung on a wall...
neat huh? I thought so for $6.....

sign says GIVE THANKS...got it at Fred's on clearance last year...

need to glue the stem back on this pumpkin...it's been tossed around
in the attic...:)

just HAD to have a red tea kettle..

I'm really enjoying blogging more that I thought I would..maybe it's
giving me a sense of accomplishment...

Fall decorations for dining room.....

Re-did my dining room chandelier...before it had some beige shades on them and
since red is my FAVORITE color i found these shades on sale and it looks so much
better especially in person...

found these runners at Tuesday Morning........

got these charges last year during Christmas and decided this year to pull them
out for Fall,Christmas and again at Valentine's....

dining room table is still a "work in progress" not too please with it...feels like it's
missing something.....maybe glasses,napkins...stuff like that huh :)

next is my hutch which I really like.........it's missing the "wow" factor as well..I'm
trying.... :)

before pic of dining room hutch...needs a coat of color doesn't it? a pic of the dining
room table is my side bar...the set wasn't a match just tried to put them together...

found the pumpkin plates at Pier 1 last year after the season got a
great deal on them...

as you can see at one point in time my theme was blue dishes...now it really doesn't
matter I don't have a theme any more trying to get away from some of that but I do
like the dishes just want to add to them...

any suggestions are welcomed...

I hope you guys have a really great weekend...looks like rain's coming to S.C but I'm
not complaining!

Front Porch decorations....

Hey guys! it's time to decorate the front porch..so...this is gonna be my mailbox flag
i always change those out for the different seasons...it's not up because it was too
dark out last night :)

and this is gonna be the house flag... I started doing those last year...got this flag
on clearance at Lowe's...it's very pretty in person....

my door wreath...wished it was bigger but that's ok..and looking at it now I have thoughts
of maybe using a orange and green gingham ribbon instead of the one that's on it now..
hmm......and maybe some feathers........

got my mum last weekend beauty isn't she? someone told me that you can plant
these and they'll come back next year...didn't realize that...guess i'll be doing that
from now on...makes me feel like I'm getting my monies worth...

these poor scarecrows...they have been moved around from place to place and have
held up well...thanks guys! the one in the chair was having issues and didn't want to
stand! grrrr...

and these toparies have seen so much change that their loosing their leaves but I think
they still have some more use in them...dressed them up with orange lights and plugged
those bad boys in!

I decided to start using pillows with weather resistant fabric on them so during the
summer time when all the patio furniture & pillows are out in stores.... I think ahead
to what would look good during the other seasons and use those colors.... these
pillows go great with my fall stuff...

It's Here! ..... It's Here!!!!!

Hey Y'all...

I have been waiting for this box to arrive for almost a week now! Last week while
sitting on the couch watching my favorite fragrance person Mr. Harry Slatkin on QVC
I made a impulse decision to order what's in this box.....Eeeeek! i'm so excited...:)

see it says QVC on the box!

I began to open it up and started pulling out the contents....

Yes! it's a Slatkin & Co. candle...I love these candles they are the best. Does anyone
else out there like them??? the smell lasts and lasts "forever"!

not only did it come with 2 candles it came with a figural...that's what reeled me in!

It's a Gingerbread house! so...so cute!!!

here's a close up of the 2 candles...in the store you have to buy the candles individually
and they don't even sale the figural at Bath and Body Works....

isn't it cute?!...sorry y'all it doesn't take much to excite me...and (ding!) just had an idea...
like my fall tree on another post this "baby" is gonna stay out for Thanksgiving..of course
Christmas...through Winter and Valentines day I can build on all those themes!... you go girl :)

see...when I buy something "seasonal" I always try to think of how many ways I can use it
and for what other seasons that it can be used in...trying to stretch a budget ya know....

side view...and it looks that way all the way around...so it can be put out in the open and
look the same on all sides...

so when using it with a candle the figural comes with a base to sit it on and then just sit
the Gingerbread house on tip...cute...cute...

I wasn't gonna light it but just had too...

inside view....so guess I'll be lighting candles this weekend which I like to do when it
gets cold...if anyone else out there purchases one of these let me know I'm interested in
hearing your experience .....

also along with this Gingerbread house they were advertising a Polar Bear with the 2 candles
and the cost was almost $40 (don't quote me) and with the shipping and handling it came to
$50.77 which I think is good just the 2 candles at Bath and Body Works alone are almost $15 a piece...

Been working on my "Fall Tree"...

Last year I got the idea to do a Fall tree....so I just got the tree out and used some
a couple of leaf garlands wrapped around it, bought some of the orange Halloween lights
at Big Lots wrapped those around it...and ...liked what I saw although I'm still trying to
figure out what I want to do around the bottom of it...I have used material before this time
I might use some "fake" hay or pumpkins...still pondering...

this year I went with a friend to Garden Ridge and they had some birds on their
Christmas aisle and I thought with the colors of the birds I could use them on my fall
tree...clipped them and ....liked the way it looked...

and back in August during a church picnic noticed alot of fallen pine cones on the
ground collected those and little did I know at the time how good they would look
on my fall tree!

I just love this little tree ...bless it's little heart it goes up this time of year Sept/Oct
and won't be taken down until after Valentine's Day ...decorating it for Christmas,
Winter, Valentine's Day and Easter :)

I needed a tree topper so I opted for some fall ribbon...if you have any comments
or suggestions please let me know I would love to hear them!

My Goodwill finds...

I look at these net lights every year they come out in the store during the holidays so
this was my chance to try them for $1.50....

I'm trying to collect prelit villages "here and there" I just love to plug things in!
and for $6.00....can't beat it!!!

I think I got this frame for 50 cents...

and this ceramic dish...seems like it's been at my house once already (LOL!)
I use it for my facial cleansing soap...50 cents

and here's the collection that I got on that day...I just love to find a good bargain!
